Churches and Community Groups

"Habitat for Humanity believes in putting faith into action. As the walls go up, so many invisible walls come down and new hope is built in the heart of the community." Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Habitat for Humanity is a non-denominational Christian charity that works around the world with home owners and volunteers from all backgrounds, races and religions to build their homes.

Churches are major supporters of Habitat for Humanity and can get involved by:

Pray for our work

Prayer is an important part of the life of Habitat for Humanity and we ask you to pray for our work around the world, here in Southwark and for homeowners and volunteers. We also ask that we are guided to where the need is greatest and can provide and refurbish housing for those who are in need.

Volunteer

Habitat for Humanity provides practical opportunities to participate overseas in Global Village Missions or in the UK. This can provide a mission focus for a church or for a group of local churches working together.

We welcome church groups on our sites. Please contact, Alex Waddington if you would like to discuss any available opportunities. (link to volunteer leaflet).

Donate

Habitat for Humanity is grateful for all the financial support that we receive that supports our mission to provide homes for people in housing need. If you would like to hold a gift day or an event, we would be delighted to help to support that in any way we can.

SHfH can provide speakers to talk about our work as part of providing a volunteer commitment or a fundraising event. Please contact Diane Regan for more information.
